I tried this on a WinXP machine, and it worked. When the ADPCM bitstream of each subband is obtained, the results are multiplexed and the next step is storage or transmission of the codef. Now i can play the games and also hear them crying. The size of the blocks is measured in samples.

The annoying error msg is still there. Play a Sound with XAudio2. If you use the wave exclusively in non-looping mode, the sample block alignment restriction does not apply.
Ok, here we go. If you try to apply compression to a non-aligned wave, you will get an error or a warning depending on whether the wave is used in any looping play events. It seems a lot of people have this problem and zudio seems to have a 'good' solution.
